I too was mightily disappointed with what I saw in the new book. As you said, it seems like the book was rushed to the printers when there were scores of new climbs that were left out. On the Sparks Wall alone, I put up 3 new routes last fall and the information for them is readily available on Mountain Project. Yet, they weren't included, which seems more an issue of being lazy than anything else. And, while there were new photos and essays, much of it seemed a repeat of the old guide. I was looking forward to new and different essays and photos. All that being said, I'm psyched to go explore the new cliffs describes and I believe that it's a great way to thin out the crowds at the Creek. However, I probably won't buy the new book because there's not enough new information in it from the old book, and particularly with the advent of the Internet, I can get a lot of the approach/route information online to supplement the old book. And, I was at least looking forward to buying it as a coffee table book but I probably won't because many of the essays and photos are the same.
