Redstone Ice Conditions 11.18.09
November 19th, 2009 • Related • Filed Under
Took a drive up the Crystal Valley on Monday. Not much happening yet, but all the ingredients are there. We have had snow, sunny days and cold nights, which usually equals ice in Redstone. I’m betting there will be some ice to climb by the weekend, look in the usual shady spots that come in first. I know the Laundry Chutes on Sopris and the dry tooling in Coal Creek have already seen some action so apparently folks are jonesing to swing those swords! I think I’ll keep chasing sunny rock for now, but it can only last so long…
[...] Redstone: Nothing yet, but word is some climbs may be ready by this weekend. [...]
Post up the conditions please if you are out this weekend. Thanks!
Just took a drive up (Saturday afternoon) and nothing is fully in. Hays creek is a definite no. The drool and redstone pillar are forming up, as well as some formation at redstone slabs. Crystal slabs have nothing going on yet. And avacado gulley has a good drip of ice forming on the second pitch, could be a fun early season outing. I’ve got the bug so I’ll be checking as much as possible and keeping the info up to date.
