Redstone Winterfest Again Welcomes Ice Climbers

Last year marked the first time ice climbing was included in the annual celebration of winter that is the Redstone Winterfest. This year climbers are back in the mix, with two days of gear demos, pull up contests, climbing movies and most importantly CLIMBING!!! The fun takes place on February 19th and 20th, and some highlights include:

  • Check out the latest ice gear by Black Diamond, CAMP, Grivel and Petzl. Gear check-out is 9 am. Check in by 4 pm.
  • Stop in at the Rock and Ice booth to register for schwag including ice gear and ropes, and pick up a free ice guide with updated conditions.
  • Rocking live Texas blues from Lincoln Durham at the Crystal Club, 7:30 Friday and Saturday nights.
  • Premier showing of Leo Houlding’s Psyche II, Redstone Inn, Saturday, 7:30 $7
  • Beer Tasting at the Redstone Inn, Saturday, 4 to 6 pm. $7 (A great deal!)
  • USSA sanctioned 5k snowshoe race. All ages and abilities welcome. $20. Saturday, 10 am. Show up early to register on site.

Last year the event had a fun, mellow vibe and promises to be a good time yet again. Rock & Ice is reporting that local conditions are fat. For more info visit the official site.
