Adventures in Podcasting

It’s hard to believe, but Splitter Choss is going into its seventh year online, and as such, my friend Chris Kalous wanted to record an episode for the Enormocast, to talk about the site, and my motivation for keeping it going over the years. We also discussed the state of online climbing media, why we do what we do, and the future of print media. Even our dog Thunderpup had some things to add to the conversation, and we had a great time recording at Splitter Choss world headquarters.

For those who don’t know, the Enormocast is the rebirth of what was the Off Belay Podcast, and Chris is getting together some great content. Be sure to head on over and check out the latest episode, along with some of the other podcasts with guest co-hosts Lisa Hathaway and Kelly Cordes,

If you enjoy the show be sure to leave a comment over on the page and let Chris know, so we can get more fun stuff to listen to!

  1. I dig this kind of stuff. Great conversation and I am glad you guys talked about the difficulty companies are faced with when it comes to weeding out joeshmoerockclimbingblog.com. Nice work and I am certainly looking forward to hearing more from Chris.

  2. Great podcast! You guys were really great to listen to on my way to work. When I can’t be out climbing, you guys keep me psyched! Seriously, though, without your diligent efforts, my climbing perma-stoke would be severely diminished. Peace.

Bulldog Creek Dog Walk (IV WI 4+)

Hayden Carpenter and Tom Bohanon recently repeated an obscure ice climb on the south side of Mt Sopris. Given a brief mention in Jack Robert’s ice guide, Bulldog Creek Walk is described as being 100 meters of WI 4. What they found was seven pitches of ice in a remote setting that makes for one […]
