Castleton Tower Exploited For Car Commercial

Back in 1964! I came across this hilarious video of a Chevy car commercial from 1964 that was filmed in Castle Valley. It feels like a b-rated movie, but I bet it had a lot of people oo-ing and ah-ing back in the day.

Check it out:

Wasn’t Castleton also used for a music video in the 80s/early 90s by Guns N Roses? Classic.

  2. How scared do you think that model was? Hope the emergency brake was set:)

Wow. Commercials used to be really long!

My husband and I climbed Castleton about 10 years ago and when we got to the last pitch it was my turn so I got to top out. It was a great climb and a heady trip. We were a little surprised that the Car Commercial crew signed the register, it seemed like cheating to me. As far as we know we were the first married couple to sign the register, I would be interested to know if there are others? The only problem we had was the approach…We went the hard way through the scree field. Step up one foot, slide down three.
