Off Belay Podcast – Everything Climbing Without Leaving the Ground

Finding the written word not potent enough for all they want to express, Chris Kalous and Jamie Lynn have embarked on a quest to bring us the greatest climbing podcast ever. Many of you loyal readers are familiar with Chris, as you might remember him from such classic posts as the Aid Climbing Rant, and Don’t Be An A$$hole.

He’s taken his creative energy and highly refined ranting abilities to the airwaves, and along with the balanced female perspective of Jamie Lynn, they’ll be tackling a variety of topics, from Why Climb? to interviews with well known climbing personalities. I’ve been really enjoying listening to the episodes, head on over and check them out.

Also, we’ll give away a free Black Diamond ATC and locking biner to the first person who can tell me where the intro and outro segments come from.

  2. Both off The Eiger Sanction obviously! Who doesn’t know every line and scene from the best climbing movie of all time? I really don’t need the ATC but I just couldn’t resist showing off my remarkable ability to quickly recognize these succulant segments……it quite possibly is the only movie I could do that with. “I didn’t carry it, you did, it’s in your pack”. A fine trick indeed. I wanna go watch it right now:)

When Tomorrow Never Comes

I can only imagine how excited you were, hiking up to the base in the crisp, pre-dawn air. You’d probably been watching this thing grow, knowing it doesn’t come in often. The day before you died, I noticed the same line and thought of you, even though we hadn’t climbed together in a while. You […]
