About

Thanks for stopping by. This website is a place for the local climbing community to connect and learn more about the climbing in the Roaring Fork Valley and surrounding areas. Wondering about the name? Here's the origins of splitter choss.

This valley has a rich climbing history, and unfortunately much of it has not been well documented. This site will attempt to fill in the gaps, so please send feedback if you have any useful info. Also, it's going to be a continual work in progress, so let us know if there's something you'd like to see added.

Please respect the areas you visit. By putting this info on the internet, any and every idiot with a computer can know about our "secrets." Tread lightly and leave the place as you found it so the next person can enjoy it just the same.

Hopefully you'll find this site helpful for discovering new areas, staying updated on current ice conditions, and wherever else it takes us. Please send in any corrections, updates, etc. Have fun out there.
