Coal Creek Slabs

This is the most reliable climb in Coal Creek. Walk past the large cliff band and look up the next major drainage on the right, it should be obvious. There’s a variety of lines here, and they can be either lead or toproped from trees on top.

Early in the season the slabs don’t see much sun despite their southwest exposure thanks to the big hill on the other side of the canyon. Towards the end of the winter, however, they start to get hammered by the afternoon sun.
