Need a Good Climbing Shoe Resoler?

So did I, and after some research using the Google, I decided to check out Pro Deal resoles in Pueblo, Colorado. I sent the shoes in and got them back in a very quick turnaround, maybe a couple of days. The work looks top notch, and I’m psyched to get the revitalized shoes out on some rock. The cost was reasonable, and their mantra is you’ll never pay more than $30/pair for a resole, regardless of what needs to be done. Pretty nice, as one of my pairs of Muira’s needed some serious rand work. They offer Sportiva and 5.10 rubber, in varying thicknesses, so can pretty much get whatever you need.

I sent two pairs and they both look great, so I’ll be sending a third shortly, thanks again Pro Deal Resoles!

UPDATE: These guys have proven to be very flakey recently and I can no longer recommend them. Best to go elsewhere, which is a shame, because they did do good work, but no reason to have to wait months for your shoes.

  1. I agree with the good work for the price.

    I ordered the thicker rubber on one pair of my Muiras and man was it thick. It has be wearing quite well but initially I lost a bunch of sensitivity so be careful.

  2. My friends and I sent off 4 pairs of shoes to Pro Deal. All my friends’ shoes (Montrail Method, Miura and Evolv Defy) came back great, but my Scarpa Vision Vs didn’t fare so well – they both needed rand work and since they already fit snugly, I could barely get them on my feet when they came back. From what I hear though, this is a general symptom of rand work, so I can’t blame them; anyway, the rubber and the toe caps did look great. The other shoes were excellent, the turnaround time was great and the price can’t be beat. Recommended, especially if you don’t live near a resoler.

  3. Komito Boots in Estes is my choice. Steve Komito has been doing this for eons and I think his work is excellent. 1/2 soles job was $35 and I had them back within 5 days of sending them in.

  4. I sent a pair of shoes to Pro Deal over a month ago. They havent returned and the people at Pro Deals won’t return my phonecalls or my emails. DO NOT SEND SHOES TO PRO DEAL RESOLES!!

    My beautiful La Sportiva Mythos’ are gone forever and it tears me up!

  5. yo. so i sent my shoes in and got them back three weeks later. great resole. i could’nt get in touch with the owner for questions very easily. but sure enough i got my shoes back in good condition. i suggest being persistent if it takes a while. nearly perfect resole on my mythos. I was a little woried after reading this message above, a week after i sent them, but i am climbing today.

  6. I ALSO HAVE NOT GOTTEN MY SHOES BACK!! It’s been a month and half later and they won’t respond to our e-mails and phone calls!! My husband and I sent in two good pairs of shoes, and now I consider them stolen… They were our most expensive favorite shoes and we were having them resoled for a trip Joshua Tree, but we had to go there without them. DO NOT SEND YOUR SHOES HERE!!!

  7. I sent 6 pairs to ProDeal Resoles 6 weeks ago. UPS tracking confirmed receipt. They refuse to respond to my emails and phone calls. I consider my shoes stolen. When I am in Colorado I am going to find the owner and have a talk with him.

  9. I’ve been sending my shoes to Komito for over 20 years, so what possessed me to give prodeal a try? A friend sent his Mythos there and they came back very nicely resoled. I figured I’d mix it up a little. Now it’s been over two months since USPS confirmed delivery of my Technos to prodeal and, like many other reviewers, I have no shoes, no email responses, no more patience for the full mailbox recording, nada. Goose egg. Does anyone know this guy? You may want to check and see if he hasn’t, god forbid, keeled over in the workshop. I can’t bring myself to say something mean about him taking my shoes if he’s not with us anymore. Still hoping to see the box returning my beloved 45.5s to me on the front porch one day, but hope is ebbing.

  10. Definitely DO NOT USE Pro Deal Resoles. I sent them 2 pairs of shoes in August of this year. They charged my credit card as soon as I sent the shoes. Now, 4 months later, I still don’t have the shoes and they haven’t returned any of the 4 emails I sent or the messages I’ve left on their voicemail. The 877 number listed on their website has now been disconnected.

    Look at their rating on the Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado.

  11. I too have had a bad experience with Pro Deal Resole. I sent in a pair of shoes in May 2011 and now it is Aug 2011 and no shoes. I have sent numerous emails and left many voice mails. they do not respond to my attempts to communicate with them. DO NOT SEND YOUR SHOES THERE!!

    Pro Deal Resole has had 26 complaints filed against them in the last 12 months through the BBB and currently has a BBB rating of “F” – the lowest rating the BBB gives. Enough said.
