Thompson Creek in the Aspen Daily News

There’s an article in today’s edition of the Aspen Daily News about Thompson Creek and the agreement made between the Roaring Fork Climber’s Coalition and the BLM. I think the article does a good job of explaining the situation and where all the involved parties are coming from. Kudos to David Frey for a job well done.

“The raw beauty of the rocky fins that tower over Thompson Creek is part of what has made the area a recent magnet for rock climbers.

Those same stunning spires prompted the Bureau of Land Management to set aside the land as a spot for solitary visitors and prompted environmentalists to seek to protect it as wilderness. ”
