Climbing Accident on Pyramid Peak

Apparently there was an accident up on Pyramid Peak over the weekend. Here’s a link to an article in the Aspen Times about it . Sounds like the guy pulled some loose rock off and took a sixty foot fall. He was Flight-for-Lifed out when rescuers got to him. The Aspen Daily news also has a piece on the accident.

There aren’t too many details given other than the fact that loose rock was involved. It’s definitely an interesting time to be up on the high peaks, when much of the terrain has just enough snow to cover the rocks but not so much that it’s completely buried and you can climb above it. Usually it’s an unpleasant mixture of the two. Be safe out there.
