Go See This Film!

Ok, this isn’t climbing related, but most folks around here spend their winters in pursuit of powder, so it’s somewhat relevant, plus these guys are my friends. Tomorrow night at 7pm the Wheeler Opera House in Aspen is the premier of the movie Signatures from Sweetgrass Productions. Nick Waggoner and crew are true artists, and this film promises to be an incredible piece of visual imagery, shot over the course of a winter spent in Hokkaido, Japan. Don’t go expecting the usual TGR/MSP loud-music-cliff-hucking-wank-fest, these guys bring style to ski films and we may just have to come up with a new genre to describe what they are doing, as it so far removed from everything else out there. Check out the trailer below and head on up to Aspen tomorrow night to support an incredible group of filmmakers. Plus there is live music after the show with John-Alex Mason.
