Castle Valley at Sunset

castle-valley-sunsetYou’ve been working all day, but the few hours of daylight left are all you need. Driving out in the afternoon light you scan the walls above for unclimbed lines as the miles pass.

The hike goes quick and only one other party is descending, the route is all yours. Before long you’re monkeying up the bolt ladder, into the chimney and onto the sidewalk.

Your buddy soon joins you, his eyes widening a little at the sight of the bizarre, twisted summit beyond. He quickly makes his way to the top and stands up to defy gravity, and bask in the beauty and exposure of the place.

The raps go smooth and hiking out you talk about how much fun it was, but you’re stopped in your tracks by the spectacular sight before your eyes.
