Photo Of the Moment – Thompson Creek

Photo of the Moment is a new section on the site that will feature photos we want to share, some with a relevant story, others that are just nice images. Today’s shot is of Tracy Wilson on End of the World Party in Thompson Creek. This was the first route that was bolted there, and really kicked things off at what would become one of the best local crags. Unfortunately the future of the cliff is still uncertain, as the BLM drags their heels on putting together their new resource management plan for the area, and it’s also part of the Hidden Gems Wilderness Campaign which is causing quite a stir among local residents.

Regardless, this is an incredible local resource, with room for many more routes, and we will be doing everything we can to fully open access at this wonderful spot. For now, the standing voluntary restrictions remain, only 9 climbers at a time are allowed at the wall, and about half the routes are still disabled with the first couple of hangers missing.
