Thompson Creek

This is a great little crag that sits in the hills to the west of Carbondale. It offers a good selection of routes from 5.10 to 5.12. Most are pumpy and make for great training.

Currently there is a limit of 9 climbers at any one time at the cliff. Please sign in at the register and respect this voluntary measure. We are hopeful that this will be resolved in a timely fashion and climbers will have unrestricted access to this great resource.

Also, some of the hangers have been removed from some of the climbs to discourage large numbers of people from climbing at the cliff. While we felt this measure is unnecessary, it was required by the BLM as a condition of continued use at this area.

To help preserve access to this unique area, please visit the Roaring Fork Climbers’ Coalition and sign up to become a member.
