Redstone Ice Climbs

Redstone offers a great variety of climbs, from free hanging pillars to multipitch outings. The climbing for the most part is very fickle, here one day, gone the next. It’s not the best place to visit, because you never know what you’ll find. If you live close by, though, you’ll probably be able to catch a few classics before they come crashing down.

To get there, follow Hwy 133 south out of Carbondale. This will put you in the Crystal River Valley, where the climbing takes place. Access to many of the climbs involves crossing private land, please be discreet and obey all posted signs.
